Cinnamon Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies
I don’t know about you, but Chocolate Chip Cookies are one of my favorites. I’m not sure they are THE favorites, but they are definitely in my top five. However, I’ve never really thought of them as “seasonal”. They are just kind of normal cookies – good anytime you’re in the mood for them – like a faithful friend. And there’s certainly nothing wrong with that!
We were a bit amazed to find out what a difference a little cinnamon and cloves can make! The combination of flavors seems a little strange at first – and then becomes completely addictive. Seriously, we are all having a hard time staying out of these yummy cookies!
Ingredients For Cinnamon Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/4 Cups Unsifted Flour
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Cup Butter, softened (2 sticks)
3/4 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 Tsp Vanilla (or 1 vanilla bean, opened and scraped)
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp Ground Cloves
2 Cups Chocolate Chips of Choice (please, not Nestle. That company is evil.)
The instructions for these Cinnamon Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies are pretty simple. Mix the dry ingredients together in one bowl and mix the wet ingredients together in another bowl. Then mix them together. I know that some people are really careful about how they put their cookie dough together. Me, not so much. I just make sure it’s all mixed up well – sometimes by hand and sometimes by electric mixer. It depends on my mood. Then I fold the chocolate chips in. Done! And in this case, we made some cookies and then stored the rest of the dough in the refrigerator. Until today – when we wanted more cookies.
Plop the cookie dough out on a cookie sheet lined with foil. We like to use an ice cream scoop for ours.
I baked our cookies at 375 F for 11 minutes, until they were golden brown, but still very soft.
They are totally yummy, and definitely have the approval of my Build-a-Bear friend “Snow”, who is a big fan of cookies of all varieties.
Seriously, isn’t he cute? He’s a gift from my youngest kid, and he’s my special friend. I love his little “Team Grinch” hoodie and jeans!
Snow gives his approval on these Cinnamon Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies, though. Team Grinch or not, Snow knows a delicious treat when he sees one!
